Iconic Invercargill department store H & J Smith has closed its doors after 123 years in business. Michael Matheson has worked there for 48 of those years!

Zespri CEO Dan Mathieson was in Beijing recently with Sir John Key and the Zespri board chair, to try and resolve the problem of unauthorised cultivation in China of Zespri-owned varieties of kiwifruit. They had a meeting with the Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi. Getting such high-level access in China is very significant.
