Zespri CEO Dan Mathieson was in Beijing recently with Sir John Key and the Zespri board chair, to try and resolve the problem of unauthorised cultivation in China of Zespri-owned varieties of kiwifruit. They had a meeting with the Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi. Getting such high-level access in China is very significant.
